Discover Keowee Key

The Decision

With my husband retiring and our living near Chicago, we were looking forward to relocating to "The Place" to spend a new chapter in our lives. That "place" turned out to be Keowee Key, a closed, gated community on Lake Keowee, in the Golder Corner of South Carolina. We started our search several years earlier, and after several possible locations, we found Keowee Key. The search was over, and we have never looked back! To this day, we continue to be enthralled with every aspect this community and area has to offer for living a full, active lifestyle. Shortly after our move here, I rekindled my long-time career in interior decorating. However, after a couple of years, I developed a desire and interest to get involved in real estate and in 2001 earned my real estate license. I have been working with prospective buyers and sellers in the area and, specifically, here in Keowee Key, ever since. Let me describe "the place" my husband and I found and I think you will gain an understanding of the factors that impacted and concluded our decision.

Keowee Key shares a portion of this 25 mile long, crystal clear deep water lake, with 370+ miles of shoreline. On a map, look in the northwest corner of South Carolina, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We enjoy a four season climate, beautiful Springs, Summers, Autumns and a Winter mild enough to continue playing outdoor sports. As I mentioned earlier, we are a closed, gated community with a 24/7 security and first responder service along with many amenities including, an 18 hole golf course, full tennis facilities, a fitness center with an enclosed, year round swimming pool, and full boating facilities with two marinas. Two outdoor pools and the lakeshore provide the aquatic opportunities. Cap these off with a full service Clubhouse and Activity Center. Our most used amenity is the walking trail, a beautiful 2.8 mile lakeside, paved path, illuminated for the late night walkers and star gazers.
